Panic Disorder Symptoms-Getting More Knowledge
It's important to understand that a panic disorder is a specific category of anxiety disorder. It becomes characterized by panic attacks, which come out of nowhere. Plus, attacks aren't triggered by an event, situation or other aspect.
Panic disorder can affect anyone. Understand that while it appears in young adults and teenagers, there are adult sufferers as well. Another important note is that it affects women more than men.
You will find that symptoms can last 2 minutes or 30. There is no way of telling which one you will endure, but either one can be detrimental to your quality of life. The good news is there are a wide variety of symptoms and even though everyone has different traits, there are some symptoms that appear in all sufferers.
For instance the most common disorder is fear. There is an overwhelming feeling of impending doom or disaster. Honestly, this can be paralyzing, and making it hard for the person to function throughout the day. Some people have this feeling they're going to die during a panic attack.
Breathing problems are also a common issue. When you endure a panic attack the heart feels like it's pounding so hard it's going to come out of your chest. It's possible that palpitations are present and your pulse is erratic. It can lead to chest pain, which eventually means seeking medical assistance since it feels like a heart attack.
Panic disorder sufferers will also say they're throat feels like it's closing up. The feeling of no air is nothing to write home about, and the shortness of breath can be quite worrisome.
Another common issue has to deal with involuntary body movements or skin sensations. Also shaking and trembling is a common sign as well. Then again, there are others who have to deal with muscle spasms, twitching, or jerking. There are even times when people feel like their body just takes control. You might even come across itchy and crawly skin, or a burning and numb sensation.
Issues with the digestive tract are also a problem. While having an upset stomach is common, waves of nausea can eventually lead to vomiting. Oh, and let's not forget about the cases of diarrhea. You can also have a taste bud change. This will lead to a different taste in food, and at times like it's been exposed to metals or chemicals. The tongue might even feel swollen, tingle or burn. There can also be large amounts of air that ends up in the stomach that leads to hiccups or gas.
All of your senses may have issues as well. Whether it's the ears feeling clogged, dealing with muffled sounds, or like you're in a tunnel it's quite irritating. Then again, you could experience ringing, throbbing or pulsing in the ears as well. It's also possible your vision can become distorted or blurry.
Unfortunately these are only a few of the many symptoms an individual can come across when dealing with a panic attack. There also may be signs of changes in your skin color, temperature, fainting, pain or sweating, fatigue, changes in the libido, night sweat, or even your weight.
While the treatments are widespread, the most effective ones are natural treatments. These can include the use of herbs, aromatherapy, yoga, and everyday things like exercise. Each one can help you relieve stress.
You can also find good self-help books that will help you reduce the overall issues of panic disorder as a whole. If you're looking to overcome this challenge on your own, then this is the best solution.
One thing to consider is this is not an overnight remedy. It might take a little experimenting to come up with the right one. There might be a point when a combination of treatments is used to achieve optimal results revolving around panic disorder.
